With several beautiful beaches, the coast of Port Macquarie has something for everyone. Town Beach is at the northern end, just before the river mouth and The southern end of the beach has sheltered swimming and is good for the kids, whilst the northern end has a stronger current. We discovered a lovely cove at the southern end which was quite private and sheltered during the busy summer periods and Town beach is patrolled in holidays and weekends.
This is also where we discovered a mermaid named “Poppy”
The Salty Crew Kiosk has recently opened where you can enjoy the ocean view while having breakfast, lunch or lovely fresh coffee. In addition the coastal walk can be accessed from Town beach and if you feel like a stroll into town you can walk along the esplanade. The skate park too is not far away.
It really depends on what you’re looking for. We’ve noticed that at different times of the day depending on the wind some beaches are better than others. If you’d like to check out the daily surf take a look at Port Macquarie Surf Cam & Surf Report
