Thank you to our lovely friend Astrid who inspired us to create these signs to place in the orchard and allow visitors to identify the fruit tree varieties. We now have 22 fruit and nut trees and we wanted something clear and rustic that blended in with the environment. These are perfect!
Jack and I started by gathering sticks that may be appropriate. We found it difficult to see which were old or new but when Bob cut and grinded the ends for us this became apparent.
Then came the fun part – using the soldering iron! I always welcome the opportunity to hang out in the shed with Brett and try out a new tool. I loved this, there’s something empowering about the use of tools. It was so awesome.
We are very happy with the end result and very grateful to our friend Shell who helped us hammer them in. The best projects are collaborative ones.
