We were very excited to be a part of this year’s Hastings Landcare Farm Gate Tour. 
It is a self-drive tour that provides a unique opportunity for locals to meet the Farmers of the Hastings area and see their properties up close.
Visitors included young families from Port Macquarie who surprised us when they expressed it was getting busy in Port and they were looking for some peace and quiet. We hope you can visit us again and enjoy the tranquility at Booyong. Brett and Jack were even featured in the Port News!
We had a lovely gentleman who is passionate about bird watching and wandered off into the old kiwi fruit farm and discovered a silver eye, yellow and brown thornbill bird, his family too was lovely. We look forward to hosting a morning with his birdwatching group soon. 
There was a lovely woman Anne who declared she had spent her whole life “chasing weeds” and thoroughly enjoyed it. Anne surprised Daintry from Hastings land care when her keen eye spotted a tobacco bush and small leaf privet weed on her walk. Anne was truly inspiring; I hope one day I have even a little bit of her knowledge.
We met some beautiful couples and too many wonderful people to mention, it was well worthwhile, we thoroughly enjoyed showing everyone through the property and the walk was so much fun. We are certainly people persons; it was so great seeing everyone love the property as much as we do. 
We were delighted to meet such a diverse range of people interested in conservation and were overwhelmed with the enthusiasm expressed for renting out our cottage. In response to such positive feedback, we’re planning to have it available 1st July and will post details on our website and Facebook page soon.
